lugar a dudas is an independent, non-profit space, located in Cali, the capital of the Valle del Cauca department of Colombia. The city’s population is approximately 2’400.000 inhabitants, and it is located in the southwestern part of the country.
Its purpose is to promote and disseminate contemporary art practices. As its name suggests, lugar a dudas is a lab for research, confrontation, reflection and critique. It is a space that privileges research from its own realm, rather than trying to become a space that legitimates or substitutes other institutions. Hence, it’s programs, events, exhibitions and workshops seek to make visible problems and disencounters of the context we live in; they seek as well to stimulate discussion and provide experiences that accompany the transformation of the cultural sectors of Cali and the region.
